What a wonderful way to end this year with our Christmas lunch at the Swan Hotel in Harrogate. There were 22 of us in total and there was much laughter and catching up! The meal was excellent and the staff looked after us really well and clearly wanted us to have a great time. We all donated a bottle of wine or other beverages and each picked a ticket to win. One was a handmade lavender bottle which was so beautiful and Ann was the lucky person to receive it. The fragrance was heavenly and so beautifully made.
The competition this year was to make a handmade fabric book. All the entries were fantastic and there was one clear winner. Lilian Patterson made the most beautiful Japanese style fabric book that had exquisite embroidery and was a worthy winner.
What a fabulous year full of interesting speakers, workshops, activities not forgetting our first Harrogate Creative Stitcher's exhibition in October. We would all like to thank all of the committee, especially Sue and Lorna for their hard work to make our lunch a lovely event and so smoothly run. Thank you, ladies.
